You have done all the previous steps from the visa to the language and all the paperwork, now we will get to the serious work.
Equivalency Process
MEDICINE IN TURKEY
First, you may ask who needs to take do this process? 5 Equivalencies exempt you from the Turkish Equivalency Process which are:
1-USMLE Step 3
2-PLAB Part 2
3- AMC-clinical Examinations
4- MCCQE-part2
5- Arztliche Prüfungen (3 AP, Staats Examen)
If you do have not any have of those, you have to go through the process, but do not worry we are going to guide you in every step.
First, you have to know that the Turkish medical Equivalency Process consists of three parts:
1- Paperwork
2- Equivalency Exam (STS)
3- Mandatory training
Paperwork is boring and takes a lot of time but there is no escape. There are 8 documents needed for the equivalency:
1- Your bachelor certificate is certified from the ministry of foreign affairs in your country and translated to Turkish and certified from the “noter” is. ( the noter is an office subordinate to the Turkish government and authorize to certify official documents).
2- your university transcript grades were translated to turkey and certified from the noter.
3- your university course description translated to turkey and certified by the noter
4- your high school certificate certified from the noter and equivalized to the Turkish system
5- your passport translated by a sworn translator
6- initial work contract
7- a copy of all the previous files
8- receipt of application fees
Note: to equalize your high school certificate to the Turkish system, you must be in turkey and go to the Main Directorate of Education in the city you are in.
The process takes from 1-3 months. You must submit the following documents:
Equalizing application from the Directorate
1- a copy of your passport
2- a copy of your Turkish residency
3- a verified high school certification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
4- a copy of your verified high school certificate
5- a copy of your certificate
After you have gotten all the needed documents, you need to submit to the Turkish ministry of education through a website. First, you have to get a e devlet account. To do so, you have to go to any Turkish post office with your Turkish residence, your passport, and 2 Turkish lire.
After that, go to your e delvet account and click on e-delvet kapisi. There You will find “edit your certificate” button. Click on it and go to edit your diploma, and fill your information.
Important note: You must to go to one of the ziraat banks in your city, and pay application fees of 150 Turkish lire. Then, take the receipt and attach with your application on e delvet website.
On the e delvet website, you will be asked to fill the date on which you paid the money. After that, you will be taken to a page to fill in your information. You finish filling in your information you will be asked to upload the following documents:
1- a copy of your passport
2- a copy of your university certificate
3- a translated copy of your certificate
4- your university marks transcript
5- a translated copy of your university marks transcript
After finishing uploading these documents, you will be given an URL to download a document to print and sign, then upload it to the website.
when you finish all these steps, the website will give you paper proof that you have finished all steps. You should take it with the documents mentioned above and the receipt, and go to the ministry.
important note: there is a form called “ başvuru formu” that you take from the ministry, but it is preferable to download and fill it before you come to the ministry to save time. You can do so from the website of the high ministry of education.
After you have done all these steps. You are finally free from paperwork. You can go to the ministry to check the status of your work since that shortens the process, a little bit.
The process of paperwork takes too much time which is from six to nine months.
Of course, in this time you will not just sit and wait. We will start preparing for the equivalency exam STS.
