Salaries range from 13,500 QAR (lowest average) to 62,200 QAR (highest average), depending on your area of medical specialty and some other factors— in dollars, this is in a range from 4k to 17K USD per month.
Quality residency programs:
They provide high-quality residency programs including a wide range of specialties and subspecialties. It is approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
ACGME is the body responsible for accrediting all graduate medical training programs (i.e., internships, residencies, and fellowships, a.k.a. subspecialty programs) for physicians in the United States.
In other words, Qatar’s medical programs are equivalent to the USA or European programs.

Most Qatar consultants are MRCP holders so they teach in the British school which is highly concerned with quality and efficient physical exams and clinical skills.

The main disadvantage of medical residency in Qatar are:
- You will get the Arabic board so you are limited to working in specific countries after completing your residency, as opposed to the German one for example where you could have nearly all Europe as your next destination.
- It is highly competitive and it is recommended that you have other options in your list in case Qatar didn’t work out.
- It doesn’t provide you with a passport or any kind of nationality and you will be living on the residency permit forever.
