1) Introduction & Deadline

The Research Committee of MD Guidance has a large and growing community of followers, participants, and supporters who actively engage in its activities and research projects. At MD Guidance, we are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as Research Committee Members to further enhance the committee’s achievements and contributions.

Our vision is to create and maintain databases that will benefit doctors and medical students by providing easy access to research opportunities, activities, and collaborations. These resources will also help connect enthusiastic colleagues from various universities and hospitals, as well as consultants who may join as potential supervisors and mentors.This announcement includes 2 available positions (please find the details below) and keep in mind that the deadline to submit your applications will be 20/01/2025, 23:00 Jerusalem Time.

2) Available positions, Eligibility criteria, and Required Skills 

Position 1: Research Development Assistant (DA) – (1 Spot)

Tasks & Duties Include:
  1. Database Management:
    – Regularly updating the database of conferences.
    – Updating the database of international research opportunities.
  2. Research Partnerships:
    – Actively seeking and establishing research collaborations and partnerships.
    – Building connections with doctors, surgeons, and other professionals willing to mentor and supervise projects.
  1. Coordination:
    – Facilitating new calls for applications and opportunities via Google Forms.
    – Coordinating effectively with the media and communication teams to promote projects and opportunities.
  1. Reporting:
    – Preparing and presenting frequent progress reports and updates.
  1. Communication & Outreach:
    – Maintaining clear and professional communication with external stakeholders.
    – Identifying potential mentors, collaborators, and organizations for impactful research projects.
Skills & Competencies Required:
  1. Communication Skills:
    – Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  2. Professional Experience:
    – Prior experience in external affairs or relationship management.
  3. Technical Proficiency:
    – Proficiency in Google tools (Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.).
    – Strong email drafting and management skills.
  1. Language Skills:
    – Excellent command of the English language.
  1. Research Experience:
    – Demonstrated experience in research-related activities, such as proposal writing or literature review.
  1. Organizational Skills:
    – Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
    – Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate databases and reports.

Position 2: Research Projects Coordinator – (2 Spots)

Tasks & Duties Include:
  1. Research Coordination:
    – Assisting the Research Committee Director in facilitating and coordinating ongoing research projects.
    – Following up with participants through communication platforms, including WhatsApp Communities and groups.
    – Acting as a liaison between participants and supervisors to address queries and maintain a smooth workflow.
  1. Innovative Research Development:
    – Proposing and developing new, trendy, and innovative ideas for research projects aligned with current healthcare needs.
  1. Hospital & Clinic Coordination:
    Visiting local hospitals and clinics to:
    – Facilitate the selection of cases for research.
    – Coordinate data collection efforts.
    – Obtain administrative approvals required for project execution.
Skills & Competencies Required:
  1. Eligibility:
    – Final-year medical students, medical graduates, intern doctors, or resident doctors are encouraged to apply.
  1. Research Experience:
    – A minimum of two journal publications (published or accepted) in peer-reviewed journals.
    – Active involvement in research activities, including attending conferences, workshops, or seminars.
  1. Research Knowledge:
    – A strong background in various research designs, including case reports, cross-sectional studies, and systematic reviews.
    – Proficiency in research methodologies, data collection, and analysis techniques.
  1. Skills & Abilities:
    – Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and guide teams effectively.
    – Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication, especially when interacting with participants, supervisors, and healthcare professionals.
    – Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Google tools (Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.).
    – Time Management: Availability and dedication to meet deadlines and coordinate effectively.

Additional Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory): 
– Knowledge of research ethics and protocols.
– Familiarity with using reference management tools (e.g., EndNote, Mendeley).
– Experience in academic or scientific writing and presentation.

4) Workload

  • Time Commitment: 5–10 hours per week.
  • Flexible Schedule: No assigned tasks on Fridays and Saturdays, allowing for personal time and balance.
  • Task Distribution: Responsibilities will be assigned with reasonable deadlines to ensure efficient time management.
  • Supportive Environment: Team members will have access to guidance and support to complete tasks effectively without overwhelming workloads.
