The Sanctuary Scholarship supports students with international protection status who wish to study at UCD.

What the Scholarship Offers

• Full tuition fee coverage
• Annual maintenance support:
  • Full-time: €6,000 (>30km from campus) / €3,000 (<30km)
  • Part-time: €3,000 / €1,500
• Access to orientation, academic, financial, and social support services

Note: PhD programs are not included under this scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Hold Asylum, Refugee, Subsidiary Protection, or Humanitarian Leave to Remain status in Ireland
• Have a household income below €50,840
• Not be eligible for state fee support
• Have applied to a UCD course

Priority is given to students:

• Living near campus
• From low-income households
• In Direct Provision
• Progressing from UCD Open Learning/Access programs

Important: This scholarship generally requires legal protection status in Ireland or the UK, which may limit eligibility for applicants currently residing in Gaza. However, students who believe they may qualify are encouraged to review the full eligibility criteria.
