Students can begin their studies in:

  • January 2026
  • September 2026

The scholarship can be used for eligible Master’s programmes at the University of Birmingham (Edgbaston campus) or selected online programmes.

Important Note for International Students

Although the scholarship is technically open to students of any nationality, applicants must qualify for “Home fee status” in the UK. This means that most international students (including many students outside the UK) will not normally be eligible, as they are usually classified under international tuition fees. • Start their Master’s programme in January or September 2026.
  • Be eligible for Home tuition fee status.
  • Not have previously studied at the University of Birmingham.

Priority will be given to applicants who previously graduated from universities located in the Midlands region of the UK. Students who completed their undergraduate degree at Birmingham should instead apply for the £2,000 Alumni Scholarship.
