Resident salary: No salary is paid to a non-Jordanian resident.
Incentives: Not fixed 40-60 dinars, starting after 6 months of residency, and they are for Jordanians only.

After each training year, an annual theoretical and practical exam must be passed to raise the trainee to the next level after sending the grades from the department for postgraduate studies at the university.
Upon graduation, the trainee receives an academic certificate (63 academic hours for the 5-year programs) from the University of Science and Technology called the Certificate of Higher Specialization in the specialty, and graduation research must be done in the hospital for graduation.

All majors are available to both sexes, except for obstetrics and gynecology, which are only open to females.

Applicants receive a written test. Those with the highest 10 to 20 marks are selected (the number varies from one specialization to another) to qualify for the scientific interview stage, in which the applicant meets the heads of departments (3-4) consultants so that the interview is an oral scientific examination in the specialty only. Those who pass the scientific interviews for the stage of administrative interviews, in which they meet with several consultants. Through this interview, the applicant will be asked some personal questions and others about the reason for choosing the specialty and the concerned hospital and the extent of his knowledge of the hospital, in addition to some scientific questions related to the specialty.
To prepare for the written test, the applicant studies the books he used to study and some are advised to study UW, and questions from scientific books according to the specialty such as Absite and surgical recall for general surgery, but there is no specific source for the test.

There is no specific distribution of points, but it is worth noting that a graduate of the University of Jordan or who has done an internship at the university has additional points. Still, the final selection depends more on the written test and the scientific interview.
