About the Scholarship
The Dima Alhaj Scholarship was established in 2024 by the University of Glasgow in memory of alumna Dima Alhaj, who worked in Gaza with the World Health Organization as part of emergency and trauma response teams before being tragically killed in November 2023.
The scholarship aims to support Palestinian students in accessing higher education while honoring Dima’s humanitarian and academic legacy.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be Palestinian nationals
- Be domiciled in Palestine
- Hold international fee status
- Have applied for an eligible programme at the University of Glasgow for the 2026–27 academic year
The scholarship is not available for PhD, PGDip, PGDE, or part-time programmes.
Additional Conditions
- The scholarship cannot be combined with any other University of Glasgow scholarship.
- Applicants must have a programme application in progress before applying for the scholarship.
- If offered multiple scholarships, only the higher-value award will be retained.
How to Apply
Applicants must first submit an application for an eligible academic programme at the University of Glasgow. Once this is done, they may apply for the Dima Alhaj Scholarship through the university’s online application portal using their student ID and application number.
