Newcastle University Medical Elective
We are pleased to announce that we are currently accepting students for their 2022 Electives, with the exception of May to August* We believe that elective placements are an important part of undergraduate medical training and as such, we are proud to be able to offer students a wide range of exciting elective opportunities, in numerous specialities, across many hospitals within the Newcastle and the wider Northern region. While we do not charge tuition fees for an elective, there is a non-refundable administration fee of £200**
GKT Medical Elective; King's College Hospital
The GKT School of Medical Education runs an Elective Programme offering 4-8 week clinical elective placements for medical students who are in their penultimate or final year of clinical study. Placements are available in a variety of specialties, a full list of which can be viewed below. Placements will be undertaken at our Teaching Campus Hospitals - Guy's Hospital, King's College Hospital, St Thomas' Hospital and University Hospital Lewisham. We will be accepting applications for placement dates later in 2022/23 from August 2022.
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Medical Elective
Medical elective placements are arranged through Imperial College. These placements last 2–6 weeks (6 weeks maximum) and applicants must be in their penultimate or final year of medical school to be eligible.
Medical Elective for Visiting Students at UCL (University College London) Medical School
UCL Medical School welcomes international and UK medical students to our electives programme. The aim of this programme is to enable visiting students to pursue in depth an area of their own interest, and to gain experience of clinical practice in the UK healthcare system with the same rights, duties and responsibilities as our own medical students.
Cambridge University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Medical Elective
The 2022 incoming elective programme is now full. Applications for the 2023 elective programme will be open from February 14th to July 1st 2022. The University of Cambridge’s School of Clinical Medicine is able to provide a number of elective placements each year for Medical students based outside of Cambridge. The elective placements are for a maximum of 6 weeks and take place at the Cambridge University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust – Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

Oxford is an exciting and stimulating place to study and live in. We welcome Elective medical students from other universities in the UK and overseas. To take part in the Elective programme you must be a medical student. We don't accept doctors who have graduated or are taking part in clerkships.
Imperial College London Medical Elective
For penultimate or final year undergraduate medical students The School of Medicine, in conjunction with our partner NHS hospitals, is able to consider applications for clinical attachment elective study periods. Due to high numbers of applications, Clinical Elective placements are restricted to a maximum period of six weeks per student and only one placement per student. East Sussex Healthcare Trust Medical Elective
East Sussex Healthcare Trust is pleased to offer electives to medical students from other medical schools during the period June to September. Electives are offered for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 4 weeks and are subject to availability. Please see below for the application form. We only able to look at applications submitted from 1st March to 1st May each year.
