University of Sussex Scholarships for Palestine (2025)
The University of Sussex offers the “Scholarships for Palestine” to support Palestinian students pursuing a Master’s degree starting in September 2025. This initiative aims to provide sanctuary and educational opportunities, particularly for those affected by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must hold Palestinian ID or travel documents.
- Classified as ‘Overseas’ for fee purposes.
- Ordinarily resident in Gaza or the West Bank, or displaced due to the conflict escalation in October 2023.

Priority is given to:
- Residents of Gaza.
- Displaced Palestinians in refugee camps.
- Those without a prior Master’s degree or international study experience.
Scholarship Benefits:
- Full waiver of ‘Overseas’ tuition fees.
- Living costs stipend of £16,440.
- Sussexsport membership.
Application Process:
- Secure an offer for a Master’s program at the University of Sussex.
- Submit evidence of nationality and residence.
- Provide a statement detailing:
- Reasons for choosing Sussex.
- Contributions to the Sussex community.
- Intended future contributions to Palestine.
Key Dates:
- Applications open: March 2025.
- Application deadline: 1 June 2025, 23:59.
- Final decisions communicated by July 2025.
Additional Information:
- Two scholarships are available.
- Excluded courses include Certificates, Diplomas, PGCE, courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, Institute of Development Studies, partner institutes, Social Work (with NHS bursary), Early Years Education, research council-funded Masters, online courses, PhDs, and School Direct teaching courses.
